The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, has given its approval to a decree that will regulate from this summer the sport fishing establishing a regime of schedules and zones for their practice.
The objective of this measure is to reconcile the different uses made by the thousands of people who visit the 35 kilometers of coastline of the municipality during the year.
The decree prioritizes the use for swimming in beaches with distinction of blue flag and Q of tourist quality and in those that were qualified as canine beaches.
The goal is to allow safe use at these points.
This new regulation is based on the commitments made in programs signed with administrations and NGOs (ICTE, ITREM, Ministry of Tourism, ADEAC / FEE, users and associations, etc.)
The signed decree establishes the following points:
"It is not allowed to practice fishing until October 1 at any time of the day on the following beaches because they have some quality Q, Blue Flag or Canine Beaches: Playa del Mojón, Playa del Alamillo, Playa Of the Gachero (canine), Rihuete Beach, Puerto Beach, Bahia Beach, Reya Beach, Nares Beach, Castellar Beach, Moreras Beach (canine), Bolnuevo Beach, Covaticas Beach Playa de Percheles, as well as incorporating to this group those beaches that will join any of these quality projects in the future.
Fishing competitions can be made on a timely basis and prior authorization on previous beaches except for canine beaches.
From 1 June to 30 September at 22.00 hours at 07.00 hours fishing is allowed in Playa Negra, La Isla Beach, La Ermita Beach, La Pava Beach, Rincon Beach, Mala Piedra Beach.
From 1 October to 31 May during the 24 hours on the beaches mentioned above, provided there is not a bather less than 50 meters from the fishing area, the bather always has preference over the practice of fishing.
All year round in rocky areas, and virgin coves not mentioned previously. "
