Mazarrón celebrated last Friday one of his most important cultural events of the year.
The Playa Grande hotel hosted the awards ceremony of the XXXIII edition of the short story contest "Villa de Mazarrón Antonio Segado del Olmo".
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, presided over an event that had the guest as guest of the writer Fernando Sánchez Dragó.
Miguel Sánchez Robles received the first prize for the story "La vida a ciegas".
The caravaqueño writer obtained the maximum reward endowed with 3,600 euros.
The runner up of the contest, endowed with 2,400 euros, was for the Concha Fernández González salmantine for "El río de los Suicidas".
The contest is organized by the City of Mazarrón and the Popular University.
Another year was a high participation, surpassing the 850 received, most of them from Latin America and the United States.
The gala counted on the presence of members of the government team, councilors of the municipal corporation and members of different sectors of the mazarronera society.
