The public schools Francisco Caparrós de Mazarrón and Manuela Romero of Puerto de Mazarrón will have one more kindergarten classroom next 2017/2018.
They will be two of the 34 new classrooms that enable the Ministry of Education in the educational centers of the Region of Murcia.
With this measure the average ratio is reduced to 22.9 students in the next course.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports increases the number of units in this level, with more than 500 new places, 25 for each new classroom.
The opening or closing of units obeys exclusively to criteria of schooling needs, and by virtue of that criterion and the changing needs of each municipality, the permanence or not of the units is established.
The process to offer new units continues open throughout the year, since it is to optimize and manage public resources and increase classrooms in schools that have higher demand when school enrollment increases.
In total, for the next 2017/2018 academic year, a total of 37,300 applications have been received, representing 224 fewer applications than those registered for this course.
However, the regional government has increased the supply of school posts to reduce the number of students per classroom and thus improve the quality of teaching, betting on a more individualized teaching, which will impact on increasing school success.
