From Friday 11 to Sunday August 13, the Ecuadorian community of Mazarrón celebrates its traditional festivals in honor of the Virgin of the Swan, popularly known as "La Churonita".
This is a very expected event for the Latino population to which devotees from other municipalities and neighboring provinces.
On this occasion were three days of festivities that began on Friday, August 11 with a reception of the directive to priors and devotees.
It was at 7:00 pm and then there was a tasting of typical dishes.
At 21:00 hours began an artists festival and great dance enlivened by dj's.
On Saturday, August 12, at 06:00 hours, a ringing of bells and rocket launch announced the arrival of the feast day in honor of the Virgin of the Swan.
At 09:00 hours the doors of the Sanctuary of the Purisima were opened so that the faithful could give devotion to the image of "La Churonita".
At 14:00 hours, on the grounds of the Rio Amazonas Association, a quadrangular of sporting events of male and female volleyball was held, with the participation of teams from Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza and Murcia.
At 19:00 hours on Saturday, Mass was celebrated in the Sanctuary of the Purísima in honor of the Virgin of the Swan.
Then the image was carried on shoulders by the faithful and carried in procession through the main streets of Mazarrón.
During the same the traditional wreath took place.
At 22:00 hours, in the grounds of Los Rincones, proclamation of the holidays.
At 22:30, presentation of dance groups from Murcia and Totana.
And from 23:00 hours, raffles, fireworks, "crazy cow" and more musical performances.
On Sunday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m., various popular games were developed for both children and adults: enchanted pots, bagging races, chair dancing and others.
