A protocol streamlines and simplifies the expansion of port concessions
José Ramón Diez de Revenga, accompanied by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, visited the marinas of the town today, highlighting their "unbeatable" conditions for both users and Other activities that complement the nautical uses and that contribute to make them profitable and to seasonalise tourism.
Díez de Revenga reported the high occupation rates of the ports of the Region of Murcia during the first half of the year, which in the case of the Club de Regatas de Mazarrón reached one hundred percent, with a total of 331 mooring points, While the sports basin of Mazarron stood at about eighty percent.
The regional manager of Ports recalled that the change in regulations, which can reduce the operating fee of ports to 35 percent, has made possible the realization of new investments that improve infrastructure and, therefore, Port services offered by the Region.
The Mazarrón Racing Club has invested in the last years a million euros in improving the efficiency and environmental quality of port operations.
Among all the works carried out, the director emphasized the construction of the facility for the collection, recycling and reuse of contaminated water.
The director general also reported that more than 2,000 children have received training during this year in the various courses organized by the Sailing School of the Coastal Club of the coastal town.
Simplification in the expansion of port concessions

Concessionaires may extend their management to two-fifths of the initial term.
