The mayor has taken advantage of the visit of the regional government to move some of the issues of municipal interest in which progress is already being made.
This is the case of the doubling of the Mazarrón highway to the Port, whose feasibility study has already been tendered and will soon offer new data regarding its execution and adjudication.
Alicia Jiménez has indicated that "this is a very important project for the economic development of the municipality."
First steps for the Paseo de El Alamillo
Also, another issue that has been addressed by the councilors has been the modification of 180 meters of layout in the RM 332 as it passes through El Alamillo, as a step prior to the future construction of a promenade that will connect with El Rihuete.
The efforts of this work are carried out in conjunction with the state demarcation of Costas.
The execution of this variant will have a budget of 120,000 euros.
Investments in Camposol
The urbanization of Camposol has also been present in the issues that the mayor has transferred to the Governing Council.
Solutions to problems that urbanization counts, aspects related to the channeling of the rambla have been analyzed at the meeting, which has also revealed the renovation of the treatment plant that is already carried out with an investment of 775,000 euros.
Demands related to Health, Education have also been addressed, as well as the enhancement of the wetlands of the municipality
Employment generation
The generation of employment is another of the concerns that Alicia Jiménez has moved and has also been encouraged by the good data that Mazarrón offers in terms of jobs related to tourism in 2017.
"In that sector has grown 15% more than in the year 2016," said the mayor.
As good news regarding employment is for the municipality the opening soon of a local company dedicated to organic farming and that will give employment to 70 people.
Company, said the mayor, who was born after accepting the incentives in terms of tax breaks offered by the City.
Leaders in hotel occupancy
Awaiting to close the month of August, the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, highlighted the excellent results that Mazarrón has offered this summer in relation to the residential increase and overnight stays, despite having increased the number of places with the opening of a new hotel.
The mayor has revealed two data that are indicators of this increase: on the one hand a water consumption above 16% in relation to last summer and also a 32% more collection of urban solid waste.
