The hotels of Mazarrón hung the cartel of complete during several weeks of the month of August finally registering an average occupation of 97%.
Historical record for local tourism which had also increased by 49% the offer with the opening of a new hotel with 350 beds.
For the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, "this is a very good news for the local economy that has its reflection in the rise experienced by tourism employment data."
The mayor stressed "the beneficial consequences of the tax rebates that the City Council has promoted in order to attract new investors and thus stimulate the opening of new establishments with the consequent labor supply that this entails."
The trend was also upwards in pensions and apartments that registered 91% and in campings with an average 85% occupancy.
To these data must be added the tourism of second residence and rent whose indicators are reflected in a 16% increase in water consumption and 30% in the collection of solid urban waste.
The wide tourist offer of activities has been an attraction more for those who have visited the beaches of the municipality.
This is evidenced by the extensive monitoring of the free guided routes that have covered most of the offer of places, many of them very shortly after having offered the number of registrations.
The occupancy estimate for the month of September is 70% in hotels, showing a very similar dynamic to the month of June during which there was already a rebound of the tourist influx.
