The public schools of the municipality open their doors again this Friday to the students.
To achieve an optimum set-up, the Department of Services in collaboration with the Department of Education of the City of Mazarrón has worked during the holiday months with the aim of improving facilities for proper use.
To this end, a total of over 52,000 euros have been invested.
The elimination of hazardous elements, accessibility and sanitation have added to the traditional patching and interior painting repairs.
Downspout repairs have been carried out, leaks have been eliminated and tile replacement has been carried out in the entrance and courtyard areas of various centers, as well as the fixing of the fencing and anchoring of the same.
Also, tiles have been replaced and new grilles have been placed.
Domingo Hernández, Councilor for Services, has checked the final result of the works this week and highlighted mainly the improvements that have been made in terms of security and accessibility.
"Areas for wheelchair access have been widened, bathtubs have been replaced by shower trays, stair elimination, passageway improvements and leveling in multi-use areas. Walls and fences have been repaired and new entrance doors, besides the necessary and already traditional work of repairs of general masonry and interior painting, "said Domingo Hernández.
The works carried out have been carried out in public schools La Aceña, Bahia, San Antonio, Francisco Caparrós, Ginés García, Manuela Romero, Infanta Leonor, La Cañadica and Miguel Delibes.
