The University of Murcia celebrated this Monday the 10th anniversary of its permanent headquarters in Mazarrón.
It was during a ceremony presided over by the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela.
The event that hosted the Cultural Center was attended by Pedro Miralles, vice-rector of Training and Innovation and the director of the headquarters, Francisco Manuel Garcia, as well as the councilman of Culture of the City of Mazarrón, Pedro Martinez.
During the ceremony, a tribute was paid to the figure of José Luis Mirete, professor of Philosophy of Law, recently retired and first director of the headquarters.
Also the distinctions were given to the three best students of each of the institutes of Secondary Education of Mazarrón: Cecilia Maria Solano Navarro, titled of the IES Felipe II and student of the Degree in Right of the UMU;
Mónica Díaz Sánchez, titled IES Domingo Valdivieso and student of the UMU Medical Degree;
and Jose Manuel Hernández López, IES titled Antonio Hellín Costa.
The event served to account for the many conferences and conferences held by the headquarters in this period, as well as new projects that will be undertaken in the future, such as the 1st Constitutional Olympiad held in Spain to teach the Magna Carta to the students of ESO.
