As every November 17, Mazarrón celebrates the Day of Miracle.
This year marks the 432 anniversary of the events that took place in the town in the late sixteenth century and were recorded by the civil and religious authorities of the time.
The Sanctuary of the Immaculate has hosted the Solemn Holy Mass on the occasion of this day in which, as tradition dictates, the mayor has proceeded to renew the Voto de la Villa to the Patroness, the Purísima Concepción.
On this occasion, Alicia Jiménez began her speech by speaking to those who lost a loved one during the last year, then expressed her personal emotion at the responsibility of addressing the Employer on behalf of all the Mazarron and continued with a request intercession towards families as support of our society.
The mayor recalled to the neediest sectors, in her prayer to the Patroness: "So that you support those who have no work and live in social exclusion, so that you help the homeless, the abandoned, the unprotected, the migrants, refugees, and those who live without the love of their own, for broken or broken families, for those chained to any dependency, for you to accompany young people and give them courage in trials and hope in difficulty; consolation to the sick, to the elderly, to those who suffer, to find strength and meaning ... "
The mayor, on behalf of all the Mazarron, has given the baton of control of the Villa to the Patron: "Immaculate Mother, I give you the staff of the Villa, which as I said on the day of my inauguration, does not belong to me to me, but to all the Mazarron and I leave it in your hands so that it may realize again, in all of us, the miracle of opening our hearts and thus offering to others the best we have inside ".
The government team almost complete and other members of the corporation have attended the temple to witness one of the most important moments of the calendar of acts of the municipality.
