Two Coordinators of Road Education of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters visited last week the day centers of Puerto and Mazarrón to give talks that are aimed at compliance with traffic regulations by pedestrians.
The activity emphasizes in particular the prevention of accidents among pedestrians, since the latest statistics reflect an increase in accidents of this type.
To the intervention of the coordinators of Traffic is added that of the person in charge of road safety of the Local Police of Mazarron, Madalena Valverde.
This Tuesday has been the talk addressed to the elderly of the Mazarrón Day Center, which has had the assistance of the first deputy mayor, Pedro Martinez, who has influenced the importance of informing the population in order to avoid accidents, especially among the most vulnerable population.
Berta Cavero, of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, recalled that the elderly tend to be more predisposed to suffer accidents as pedestrians, due to the decline of their physical condition and the use of medicines.
Therefore, these talks have an impact on advice that seeks to improve attention and avoid mistrust.
The director of the Mazarrón Day Center, Salvador Sánchez, has also joined the meeting on Tuesday.
