One of the views offered by the Club de Regatas de Bahía was the location that inspired Miguel Sampedro Díaz to paint the painting that finally won the National Outdoor Painting Competition of Mazarron Landscapes "Domingo Valdivieso".
First place endowed with 2,500 euros and awarded by the City of Mazarrón by the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez.
From eight in the morning, after the inscriptions, some thirty painters from the Region of Murcia and other neighboring communities looked for a place in the municipality to be reflected in their canvases.
At six o'clock in the afternoon, the works began to be exhibited at the Cultural Center of Mazarrón and the assessment of the jury composed of Pedro Martínez, Antonio Vidal, Salvador Torres, Pedro D. Pérez, José María López and Javier Lorente began.
After the deliberations, Miguel Sampedro's painting turned out to be the winner of the contest.
The second prize, worth 1,500 euros and sponsored by the company Aquabel was for Alberto Márquez.
The third prize, worth 1,000 euros and sponsored by Mazalia went to Ana Sánchez Lucas.
The special watercolor prize, sponsored by Hortisa and endowed with 600 euros, went to Alfredo Pérez's painting.
In addition, four runners-up prizes were awarded, each with 350 euros, to the works of Blai Tomás, Andrés Gabarres, María Teresa Durá and Richard García.
These awards are sponsored by Camping Playas de Mazarrón, Muebles Santo Tomás, Ortiz Vera Hermanos and La Fundición.
The works of the participants will remain exposed in the exhibition hall of the Cultural Center.
