Entrepreneurs, self-employed workers, associations, foundations and non-profit organizations have until February 28 the possibility of joining the subsidy program for hiring young people registered in the Youth Guarantee System.

This program responds to the Youth Employment Initiative promoted by the European Council for the period 2014-2020 with the aim of addressing the high levels of unemployment among young people.

The initiative is co-financed in our country by the European Social Fund and the La Caixa Foundation.

This Program is intended to be a direct help to companies and entities to achieve this objective while boosting business activity and, ultimately, economic growth.

With total funding to implement actions of the Youth Employment Initiative of more than 21 million euros, of which € 20,000,000 come from the European Social Fund and € 1,765,154 from the "la Caixa" Banking Foundation, a line of aid for hiring young people (over 16 and under 29) enrolled in the National Juvenile Guarantee System whose purpose is to benefit the largest possible number of unemployed young people.

Period of application for aid

The general deadline for the submission of grant applications has been extended.

The deadline for applying for the grants established in this call, which began on March 7, 2017, will end on February 28, 2018 at 7:00 pm with the following conditionalities:

for hiring a fixed term (temporary), the maximum subsidy is SIX (6) months, with a minimum period of stay of SIX (6) months.

for the permanent hiring formalized until September 15, 2017, the maximum subsidy is of TWELVE (12) months, with a minimum period of permanence of SIX (6) months and extendable to two successive periods of THREE (3) months each until reaching the maximum total duration of TWELVE (12) months.

for permanent hiring formalized as of September 16, 2017, the maximum subsidy is SIX (6) months, with a minimum period of permanence of SIX (6) months.

The maximum amount of aid for each type of contract described in the previous paragraph is defined in article 12 of these regulatory bases.

Financing

10,882,577 euros (extendable) for grants of a fixed amount according to the duration of the labor contract up to a maximum of 9,600 euros.

Subsidy period of the expense: from March 7, 2017 to September 30, 2018, both inclusive.

Description of the aids

Aid aimed at companies, including self-employed entrepreneurs, associations, foundations and other non-profit entities, for the hiring of young people, registered in the SNGJ.

Failing this, they must be registered as jobseekers in a public employment service, or have renewed the demand for employment, in both cases as of December 25, 2016. Specifically:

Aids of SIX (6) months to the hiring of determined duration (temporary), with a minimum period of permanence of SIX (6) months. Maximum support: € 4,200 (6m).

Aid of a maximum of TWELVE (12) months to the indefinite hiring, with a minimum period of permanence of SIX (6) months and expandable to two successive periods of THREE (3) months each until reaching the maximum total duration of TWELVE ( 12) months. Maximum support: € 9,600 (12m).
