For the second consecutive year, the City Council of Mazarrón and the CEIP Bahía de Puerto de Mazarrón develop the project called "Traveling Backpacks".
The initiative encourages reading among students and invites their families to participate in it.
The students will receive a backpack with books and audiovisual material that they can take home and then return to another classmate who will do the same.
This project is possible thanks to the collaboration of the public library of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Patricio Sánchez, Councilor for Education and Libraries, has handed over the backpacks to a group of children's students on Wednesday.
The mayor has expressed interest in an initiative on which he has shown his desire to extend it to other centers of the municipality.
For Magdalena Campillo, responsible for the Municipal Archive and the Library Network, it is a project that was very well received the previous year.
María José Agudo, professor at CEIP Bahia, highlighted the importance of an activity that allows the school to collaborate with the administration in a productive way for the educational community.
