On Thursday, copies of textbooks were distributed to 119 children in situations of social vulnerability who are studying in the municipality.
A measure developed by the Department of Social Policy of the City of Mazarrón thanks to a regional grant of 13,678 euros from the Ministry of Family and in which participating schools Miguel Delibes, Francisco Caparrós, La Cañadica, Ginés García and San Antonio, plus of the institutes Felipe II and Antonio Hellín.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, has detailed the importance of an initiative that involves the implementation of a municipal book bank with the aim of enabling the socio-educational integration of children whose families find serious financial difficulties to buy textbooks and material school.
In this way, social exclusion is avoided and the self-esteem of the beneficiaries is improved.
Responsible for each of the collaborating centers have received the books that will be useful in successive years until the next printing of new editions.
The measure has been presented in municipal offices by the mayor next to the councilor for Social Policy, Laura Ortiz and the councilor for Education, Patricio Sánchez.
