Community and City Council refurbish the streets Emperador, Totana, Ana Méndez and Avenida Águila Imperial |
The works of a beach soccer field and another of beach volleyball in the Sports Complex of the Media Legua have already begun.
This Friday, the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, accompanied the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, in his visit to the point that will host future facilities.
To the project will be allocated, according to sources of the Ministry, 270,000 euros, of which 228,463 will be contributed by the Community and 41,535 the City Council.
The heads of both administrations have been accompanied on their visit by representatives of the two beach soccer clubs of the municipality, Bala Azul and Playas de Mazarron.
During his visit to Mazarrón, Andrés Carrillo stressed that the objective "is to reduce the deficit in the infrastructures and basic facilities of the municipalities of the Region with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants".
The result of this are the works that have been undertaken in the Avenida Águila Imperial and Emperador, Totana and Ana Méndez Spain streets of Puerto de Mazarrón.
He also stressed that "from 2018 the Works and Services Plan will be biennial so that municipalities can carry out larger works, since they will have more funding and more time for their execution."
It is expected that the various projects of the Works and Services Plan for the 2018/2019 biennium in Mazarrón will exceed 450,000 euros in investment.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, has stressed the importance of "works that improve the access of citizens to high traffic points as is the case of the already conditioned Imperial Eagle Avenue in Puerto de Mazarrón, point of passage for commercial areas and for the Institute of Secondary Education Antonio Hellín Costa ".
The construction of the new beach soccer and beach volleyball field aims to increase the facilities of the sports area of ​​the Media Legua and the municipality, due to the growing demand of recent years as the Mazarron teams Bala Azul and Playa de Mazarrón are a reference not only at the regional level, but also at the national level.
To this project of the Plan of Works and Service of 2017 must be added two that have already completed the plan of 2016. On the one hand, surface parking for 229 seats in the sports area of ​​the Media Legua, with an investment of 160,743 euros , of which the Community paid 90.704 euros and the City Council 70.039 euros.
On the other hand, the conditioning of the streets Emperador, Totana and Ana Méndez Spain and the strengthening of the firm on Imperial Eagle Avenue in Puerto de Mazarrón, with a total budget of 185,570 euros, of which 104,713 euros are contributed by the Community and 80,856 by the Municipality of Mazarrón.
