The Municipal Pavilion of La Aceña hosted this Friday the Musa Election Gala of Carnival 2018. Act that served to open the first of the two great carnival weekends in the municipality.
Ana Cristina Hernández and Marina Lardín, youth and children's muses of 2017 already have successors.
The gala confirmed the election of Nuria Zamora, of the comparsa Salsalá, as the new muse of Mazarrón's carnival.
While Irene Medrano, from El Tolín, was chosen at her 7-year-old childhood muse.
Jorge Marín, also 7 years old and from El Tolín, is the children's muse and Juan Antonio García, from the Peña La Cañadica, the juvenile muse.
Another of the most anticipated moments of the night was the appointment of the figure of Carnavalero of the Year, which this time fell to the figure of Pedro López García, a merchant from Mazarrón.
Two other children candidates defended their clubs on a night that served to open appetite for the main parades.

The night opened the School of Dance of Juan Antonio Iglesias with a performance that gave way to the presentation of the jury and the opening speech of the outgoing muse.
The comparsa Playas de Percheles also acted on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, as well as the comparsa Mármara.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the councilman of Celebrations, Patricio Sanchez, made delivery of the respective prizes and recognitions.
The mayor highlighted once again the level that has been acquiring the Mazarrón carnival and congratulated all the clubs for the work and the involvement they show.
