The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation in Mazarrón, aimed at locating and identifying the people who had spread, through a known instant messaging application, a video of sexual content in which appeared a young, minor .
The operation 'VALDI' has culminated with the investigation of proceedings to five minors as presumed authors of the crimes of revelation of secrets and against honor.
The investigation was initiated when a minor, accompanied by her parents, filed a complaint with the Civil Guard about the alleged dissemination of a video with sexual content, which she had recorded and sent to another young man who had apparently been made public. through numerous retransmissions, which reached their closest environment.
The researches carried out by the researchers focused on knowing the identity of the person who had received the file that had caused its spread among many young people in the municipality.
These tasks led the Civil Guard to a minor who, supposedly, upon receiving the message, forwarded it to other contacts, who in turn did so to others and even to telephone message groups, so the images reached be known by a large number of students of the Educational Center where the minor is studying.
The investigations carried out have allowed the identification of five minors, including the young man who received the video in the first place, for which they have been instructed to act as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of revelation of secrets and against honor.
Sexting
Consists in the sending or exchange of sexual content, mainly photographs and videos, produced by the sender himself and sent to other people through mobile phone applications or other technological devices.
When this dissemination is carried out without the consent of the victim, the authors may face the imputation of crimes such as the disclosure of secrets or against honor.
The Civil Guard recalls that the offense of corruption of minors is included in Article 189 of the Criminal Code, which establishes that a person who distributes, exhibits or disseminates by any pornographic material means that he will be punished by imprisonment from one to five years. that minors appear, or possess it for the same purposes.
To this end, the Benemérita keeps open the operation 'VALDI' in order to find out if there are other people related to the dissemination of the video object of the investigation.
The minors investigated and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Office of Minors of Murcia.
