The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the Councilor for Social Policy, Laura Ortiz, accompanied on Wednesday the general director of Women of the Autonomous Community, Alicia Barquero, in his visit to the facilities of the Center for Women Victims of Violence of Gender (CAVI) of Mazarrón.
Barquero has presented the Service of Attention to Minors Exposed to Gender Violence (SAPMEX), an itinerant project that started in Murcia in 2009 and has spread to 14 other municipalities, including Mazarrón.
This service serves children exposed to gender violence, which after reports and studies of the workers of each CAVI, are treated, in a specialized manner, by a psychologist from the Asociación Quiero Crecer.
Alicia Jiménez has highlighted "the work carried out in the CAVI de Mazarrón by its professionals" and has stressed the importance of offering this new service in the municipality, "since it avoids the inconvenience of traveling to other cities".
According to the general director of Women, Alicia Barquero, since its launch in 2009, SAPMEX has attended 969 cases in the Region of Murcia, of which 10 were derived from Mazarrón.
