The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, have announced the device of the Surveillance and Rescue in Beaches and Rescue at Sea in the Region of Murcia, Copla Plan for the town of Mazarrón.
In this event, held in a unique setting as the Playa del Castellar, have been accompanied by several authorities, among which was the General Director of Emergencies, Luis Gestoso, and the Councillor for Civil Protection, Jacqueline Gálvez.
The 2010 Plan will remain active without interruption Copla fourteen rescue and surveillance posts on beaches until Sunday, August 31, as the service for rescue and surveillance will continue at the main beaches until Sunday, September 12.
This plan will extend all the beaches in town with jobs in El Mojon, El Alamillo, the Rihuete, Port, The Island, Bay, La Reya, La Pava, Nares, El Castellar 1, El Castellar 2, Bolnuevo camping, Bolnuevo Percheles oases.
From Wednesday, September 1, to Sunday, September 12, the device will continue, reducing the number of posts in half, but to provide daily service to full capacity.
Positions, with qualified staff to provide first aid services will remain open daily from 11.30 to 19.30.
The new seats also have to address more precisely as a PA and bracelets to have located the children, the elderly and disabled.
About forty people, among them are lifeguards, beach and chief coordinator of operations, ensure daily for public safety on beaches.
These personnel will be seen increased, in case of emergency, with a pool of volunteers Mazarron amounting to an estimated 150 people.
The means and resources to fully consider this device are: rescue four bikes, a sea rescue vessel, fourteen rescue canoes, three SUVs, two Red Cross ambulances, a field hospital, a specialized medical unit and a Emergency Department of the Summa.
These means and resources have been exposed to public view, in the forecourt of the Avenida del Castellar.
In the case of Mazarrón, Copla Plan budget for this year amounted to 254,382 euros, of which 95,822 euros are provided by the region and the rest of City Hall.
Both the Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, as the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, have urged bathers should exercise caution on beaches and follow the signs.
Both agreed that "public awareness is a cornerstone in the development of Copla Plan."
