Environmentalists denounced the discharges that contaminate the beaches and promote "the Coastal Chaos" (24/08/2010)

Ecologists in Action considered shameful to the continued closure of beaches in the Murcia region derived from the poor state of sewage treatment plants, pumping stations and sewage systems and lack of foresight about the increase in sewage flow to be discussed at the shore derivative mass tourism in summer.

The black flag report 2010 "Chaos on the Coast", prepared by the environmental organization, highlights the organic waste as one of the most important elements that affect our costs.

Ecologists in Action has been reporting for many years, the deficiency in water treatment in the Region of Murcia.

This is compounded in summer time, where the population of coastal areas increases significantly.

The treatment plants are not equipped to treat wastewater so much, so there are breakdowns and discharges to our shores.

The closure of two beaches in Aguilas and Mazarron three beaches in discharges of wastewater, with the presence of fecal coliform bacteria and dirt everywhere, are a perfect example of the shortcomings that this group report systematically.

The beach was closed Calabardina 5 days, next, the Poniente beach, did a whopping 13 days, nearly half a month's holiday for residents and tourists to Eagles.

The beaches of Mazarrón, La Ermita and El Castellar, have also seen recent sewage discharges, resulting from a break in the pumping station of the port, along with the rains, has made these discharges reaching the sea.

In the case of Mazarrón the situation was aggravated by the recent floods and excessive urbanization as denouncing this group a few days ago.

Do not forget that water always return to normal and severely barriers increase environmental damage, economic and social damage caused in the coastal municipalities.

The lack of planning and administration management and neglect of local councils, absolutely no evidence of good environmental practices of their big "green marketing."

These facts collide directly with the Blue Flag awards bearing Calabardina and Poniente beach, distinctive for this group completely lack rigor and evaluating certain aspects which, although important, are not sufficient because the environment is completely margin.

A region that seeks to live in most of the sun and beach tourism beaches must care and provide for population growth and check the status of their treatment plants to prevent such incidents.

The beach remains closed a half month by organic contamination is completely illogical and presentable.

Episodes such as this summer, they can not be produced, so Ecologists in Action requires a real environmental commitment to public authorities, fulfilling the functions that are required, being transparent about the information given to the Murcia and planned society once and for all the population growth experienced by the coast in summer.
