This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, the Director General of Tourism, Marina García Vidal, and the Director General for Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, accompanied by the Councillor of Tourism, Alicia Jimenez, Councilman Services, Salvador Ardila and the Councillor for Education, Juana Maria Morales, visited the works of the perimeter wall of the Castle of Los Velez.
The work, whose main purpose is to recover one of the hallmarks of Mazarron is subsumed in a larger project of restoration of the Castle of Los Velez and its surroundings.
The works are consisting of the perimeter fence around the grounds of the Castle of Los Velez by installing fencing of an average height of 2.50 meters combining masonry wall and fence.
In addition, the City is installing three gates, two of which the existing servicing the outdoor auditorium and service to the stage area, and a third inning double that will be accessible from the rear of City Hall after to execute the project Castillo full recovery.
The project, tendered by negotiated procedure without advertising, won as the best bidder for Building and Squares SL Antonio with completion planned for them in the month of December.
The works are financed by the Consorcio Turístico de Mazarrón through a grant from the Directorate General of Tourism and have a cost of 120,000.00 euros.
After the visit, Mazarron Tourist Consortium held its Annual General Meeting on a quarterly basis, in meeting room of the City of Mazarrón.
