This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Director General of Ports and Coasts of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Carmen Sandoval, visited the works of Francisco Martínez Muñoz promenades and Rihuete.
The ceremony was also attended by the mayors of Infrastructure and Planning, José Antonio Román, Culture, Alicia Jiménez, and Trade, Luisa María Heredia.
The City Council is having a constant contact with merchants and restaurateurs of the boardwalks to keep things running well and to ensure uniformity.
Francisco Blaya has said that between merchants and the Administration is a fluid communication to meet all demands and ensure that the works progress at a good pace, solving the needs of all Administration and entrepreneurs.
The works, representing a total investment of 2,246,310 euros by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, including the construction of a bike lane length of 1,190 meters will be extended along the two walks and allowed encourage cycling among residents and visitors to the coastal municipality.
In this way, are running the work of paving, lighting and furniture placement in different sections of the 1,190 meters in length that are the subject of the action.
Moreover, half of the new bike path that runs parallel to the walks, is completed, and children's play areas, fitness trails and recreational space for seniors are ready for final equipment setup.
The pedestrian area will be 22,000 square meters while the area will be landscaped area of 1,170 square meters.
The project also includes realignment of traffic, creating new parking bands Rihuete Avenue and improved access to existing parking.
