This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Director General of Housing and Lands in the Region of Murcia, Jane Brown, have overseen the construction of social housing in the Barrio San José de Puerto de Mazarrón.
On this visit have been accompanied by the mayors of Infrastructure and Social Policy, José Antonio Román and Yolanda Vivancos.
The construction of the first phase, consisting of 13 houses, making good progress, so that could be finished for the summer.
Same time as Joan Brown commented, "is running the second phase project, which will include 7 new homes."
This project aims to provide decent housing for low-income families, as well as adapt and regenerate this area of Puerto de Mazarrón.
This promotion of social housing is for families who, for over thirty years, have been installed in manufactured homes that were built in the seventies on an interim basis after losing their homes because of flooding.
Francisco Blaya is a "social action that will provide a better quality of life by providing decent housing to families who are at risk of social exclusion."
This work, built on a plot of 1,356 square meters of the City assigned to the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia, is valued at 1,164,555 euros amount which amount is funded by the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
