Schools in the municipality of Mazarrón are developing workshops' Actions for the Prevention of Domestic Violence "initiated and organized by the Department of Social Policy, Gender, Elderly, Disability and Immigration.
The main contents of these seminars are: the analysis of inequality, roles and gender stereotypes, identifying gender values and attitudes present in the media and personal environment, the causes, manifestations and indicators risk of violence in couples, analysis of the myths and realities associated with the mistreatment of women, non-violent alternatives in conflict resolution and characteristics of relationships based on equality.
This training is primarily aimed at: promoting the construction of a non-sexist gender identity, encouraging the adoption of a critical and reflective attitude to reality, and to facilitate the understanding of the factors that influence intimate partner violence and its consequences.
This course also aims to generate changes in behavior and attitudes against violence, and develop skills to identify risk indicators and warning against violence.
The Department of Social Policy, Gender, Elderly, Disability and Immigration encourages participation by both schools and the teachers and students.
