Eleven children aged between 8 and 14 and from the city of Mogilev in Belarus spend your holidays in Mazarron welcomed by several families of the municipality, through the NGO "Solidarity Mazarrón" involved in this project.
This initiative takes place every summer for 14 years without interruption.
They were received yesterday by the mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Martinez, and the Councillor for Citizen Participation, David Fernandez.
Campillo Ginés applauded this initiative and made available to the NGO to assist its members in any way possible.
In this sense, the president of "Mazarrón Solidarity", Julio Rodriguez, the mayor asked that the City return for economic collaboration with this project.
Campillo pledged to resume this assistance the session because "we want to show the good reception in Mazarrón make of charitable causes."
The mayor also reminded Josefa "Square" who was one of the forerunners of this initiative.
This year all children repeat the experience.
The host families are not only the expense of stay, but also with the treatment they are subjected to alleviate the effects caused by nuclear radiation that occurred because of the radioactive plant explosion Chernobyl.
Julio Rodriguez asked not to forget the situation that children are better now that the nuclear issue is so topical because of the events at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.
The children were presented with a lot of school supplies consisting of markers, colored pencils, crayons and a book.
Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Martinez, acknowledged the effort made by these families Mazarron and the NGO.
The councilor also stressed that "I know you are going to polish that are comfortable, are welcome and to know the town."
