The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of Mazarrón, Campillo Ginés Méndez, have co-chaired the first meeting this morning that the Local Security Board held after the constitution of the new Corporation.
The main theme has been to treat public safety in the city this summer.
In this sense, González Tovar explained that during these months because of the Guardia Civil de Mazarrón will have a staff of 53 personnel, to which we must add the six Patrol Territorial Tax (PAFITE) located in the Port.
A total of 59 civil guards are those who serve permanently in the township.
This represents an increase over the past seven years more than double agent, namely 103%, since in 2004 only 29 were available effective.
Meanwhile, Campillo Tovar Gonzalez thanked the readiness of the Government delegation to work together to improve public safety.
Within this collaboration, the delegate explained that the local police will have immediate access to data from the Ministry through a protocol signed with the session.
"This will identify a person or a vehicle quickly, which greatly speed up their work," said González Tovar.
Also, Campillo has revealed that both administrations have decided to resume the commitment to achieve the new Civil Guard barracks in the municipality.
On this point, the delegate noted that "it is time to clear up past difficulties and once we have solved the problems we enter the next stage in order that we are strongly committed to its achievement."
The delegate also highlighted the commitment of the Government of Spain to public safety and recalled that in the past seven years, the region has gone from 1.7 agents of the National Police and Civil Guard per 1,000 inhabitants 2.6, as a result of steady increases in the templates.
On the other hand, recalled that Murcia is well below the crime rates in Spain and the European Union, so you can ensure that it is a safe region, which is also noticeable in towns like Mazarrón.
