The breaks made in Canada by the company Gallego Perich Agricultural Association and reported in recent days by the Southeastern Association of Naturalists had authorization from the Directorate General of Biodiversity and Natural Heritage has been able to find out as ANSE.
These breaks have affected nearly fifty acres of forest land for grazing (based on 3 Forest Inventory) that are situated along the coast.
The earthworks have meant the destruction of flora protected by Decree 50/2003, as well as habitats of Community interest.
Similarly, portions of Maritime Terrestrial Public Domain and easement areas affected by the Coastal Act have been damaged by heavy machinery work, destroying one of the sections most attractive parts of the coast and visited the municipality of Mazarrón.
In this regard, the Association believes that devastated a place of great interest and potential for environmental recovery and not excessive tourist use, there is ample quality farmland abandoned in the town of Mazarrón.
ANSE not understand how the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity (DGPNyB) could authorize such action, despite the serious damage it has caused to the environment, the landscape and its potential as a tourist resource of quality.
At the moment, it is unknown what limitations and conditions established the Directorate General for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity in the clearing, but as the visits to the area by technicians of the Association, has not been made or transplantation of protected species or have respected areas of special ecological interest.
In addition and according to the Association has been able to ascertain, the breaks did not, apparently, with the authorization or the City of Mazarrón, and the Coasts.
Given the above, ASEAN has sent a formal request under the Law 27/2006 of access to environmental information to the Director General of Natural and Biodiveridad requesting a copy of the authorization granted to the company, technical reports which permission and sustained the valuation of damage as the plowing DGPNyB technicians.
A week ago, and asked ANSE opening an investigation to identify possible irregularities surrounding this issue.
The Association also considers it essential to the restoration of land affected by land clearing, particularly in the area at the coastline, which is consideration of the General System of Open Spaces by the PGMO de Mazarrón.
