The campaign will involve the delivery of a cone-ashtrays to be distributed along the edge of the beach thanks to the collaboration of the hotel "Balneario de Mazarrón - Sensol" and the Red Cross and Red Cross Youth in Mazarrón.
In total, purchased 10,000 of cones that are distributed with an explanatory leaflet which asks not to waste and litter thrown into the street, no trimmings are placed in the containers, remove the animal droppings from sidewalks and not be bait or hook in the designated areas for fishing.
Also remembered in the brochure colors recycling containers, the time to deposit the waste (from 9 o'clock at night) and that containers can not move the place that puts the session.
This investment has been paid for equally by the City and the hotel "Balneario de Mazarrón - Sensol" located in Camposol.
The first beach where the cones will be distributed the La Reya, better known as Bahia, from 12 noon on Saturday thanks to the involvement of Red Cross.
Also, Red Cross Youth will complete this initiative with a campaign of its own entitled "Love yourself a lot this summer" through which will give advice to tourists and locals for their safety.
Advice related to sun safety, skin, water, the use of inflatable objects or to an accident at pools and beaches.
Councillor for Environment and Citizen Participation, David Fernandez, highlighted the efforts that the City is doing to improve the image of the municipality as far as cleaning and solid waste collection is concerned.
"Now it's up to citizens to support this effort being made by the consistory maintaining the streets and clean beaches, use of the services available to them."
The hotel manager "Balneario de Mazarrón - Sensol" Javier Masia, has described as "interesting and beautiful" this initiative and commented that "this is the direction the government should work towards quality tourism."
To Masia "Mazarrón can boast fantastic beaches, and all what the City Council to improve them is appreciated by businessmen and hoteliers."
The Red Cross president, Carmen Navarro, explained that Red Cross is actively involved in Mazarrón this project because "we are increasingly close to people, not only to care for them, but to prevent and educate."
Navarro has highlighted the importance of this campaign because "a cigarette takes 15 to 20 years and also disposed in contact with water, expelling nicotine and tar is harmful to both the environment and the health of people."
In addition, Fernandez has read a bunch of mayoral which calls upon the cooperation of citizens in the same line that marks this awareness campaign.
One aspect that should be noted that the side is called on residents not to leave bulky waste on the street remains of furniture and appliances.
Fernandez explained that "if someone needs to get rid of some residue of this type can call 968 333 294 for the municipal corporation to take care of them.."
If, on the contrary, citizens decide to lower them to the street "can be punished."
They can also be punished with fines of between 500 and 12,000 euros, the neighbors who have solar and we have them clean and conditioned.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, is confident that "anybody should be fined, but every one of the locals and tourists to participate conscientiously in this new future we are building for Mazarrón".
The side will be distributed from tomorrow to shops and establishments in the town "because they are also a key part of improving and caring for our municipality and for the achievement of quality tourism throughout the year."
