The artists Ans van der Linden and Tina Watts, Dutch and British nationality respectively, are achieving great success thanks to art exhibitions can be seen in the Town Hall of Mazarron until 7 October.
The presentation held last Friday at the landmark building had a large number of attendees, mostly foreign residents, and was made by the Councillor for Culture, Education and Tourism, Maria Celeste Soria.
Besides the two painters, the event was attended by the Councillor for Social Policy, Health, Gender and Historical Heritage, Maria Martinez, and the exhibition curator, Juan Sanchez Calventus.
Soria said "the high quality of work presented by these women," and invited residents and tourists to come to the exhibition area to see first hand, "these works, for sure, will appeal to the general public."
Van der Linden said during the presentation of the painter Paul Cézanne who said that "light is not an element that can be played, but something should be represented using other elements: colors."
This quote by the French artist was what inspired the title of the exhibition: "The colors of light."
Soroya also appointed Spanish, explaining that "the painters can never reproduce the sunlight as it really is ... I only get closer to its truth."
In this sense, the Dutch artist said about his presentation that "in my pictures I used colors to represent light. I hope people find them closer to the truth of light."
Meanwhile, Tina Watts, whose show is entitled "It's in the detail", thanked the City Council paid for the work that "citizens may know my work," and especially the work of Sanchez Calventus "that has made a great effort, especially to understand the language and I speak almost no Spanish. "
The Town Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 8 pm.
