Mazarrón lived sports yesterday night with the presentation of awards to athletes and clubs who have excelled during the season 2010-2011.
The tenth edition of the Sports Gala held at the sports hall "La Aceña" and she turned dozens of people, mostly young.
The event was chaired by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and was attended by the Councillor for Sports, Andrew James, the first deputy mayor, Francisco Garcia, the director of "La Voz de Mazarrón" Antonio Balance, and Councillors Maria Celeste Soria, Maria Martinez, Magdalena Mendez, David Fernández, José Gómez, Isidro Coy, Miguel M ª Encarnación and Juan Miguel Muñoz, by the Team, and Sergio Roman and Maria Angeles Yúfera by the opposition.
In regard to the awards, the City Council gave Mazarrón 8 awards.
The first went to the Championship of Spain Under-16 Futsal as the best sporting event in 2010-2011.
The award "Sports Legend" was placed in the hands of goalkeeper Antonio Rebollo, while the dedication to the sport was for the coach and former player of Basketball Club Mazarrón Antonio Ballesta.
The young Pablo Mendez, Mazarrón Athletics Club, was named "Most Promising".
The junior team of Club Deportivo Bala Azul was voted "Best Team 2010-2011" and the prize of "Best Club" went to the Sports Club Futsal Fencia.
The award for best local sports for athletes man was Juan Mendez of Mazarrón Taekwondo Club, and in females the athlete Maria Aparicio Boluda local athlete was named best female.
Also, the sponsor of the Sports Gala awards granted 4.
The award regularity, Delivered by "Agrochemicals Hunters" was for Diego Sanchez "Dieguiles", while the elegance, promoted by the pub "Portobello" was the captain of the Blue Bullet CD, Sergio Yúfera.
Finally the award for dedication and perseverance in the sport, turned on the radio "Voice of Mazarrón," fell to Fernando Mendez "El Moro" and the sports partnership, the newspaper "La Voz de Mazarrón" for the signature "Colesport - Atmosphere Sport".
The mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, congratulated all the winners and wished this gala "many more years of life because it's an initiative that promotes and encourages the practice of sport among the citizens."
The gala, hosted by the City of Mazarron and the media group "La Voz de Mazarrón" featured performances of dance studio "Terpsichore" and the dance school "Antonio Jara" and ended with turnovers between all attendees.
