The mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, received this morning at the Town Hall of Mazarron a score of young people participating in the "Comenius Programme", an educational project that aims to strengthen the European dimension in the field of early childhood education primary and secondary education, promoting mobility and cooperation between schools.
In total were 20 boys and girls of the 24 that make up the program, who fled the iconic building to know its history.
There have been received by Ginés Campillo who encouraged them to continue participating in such programs to further their education and achieve well in the future, great professional and personal achievements.
The "Programme Comenius", held for the fourth year in the municipality participate in this year 12 German students from the city of Rottenburg and 12 other young Spanish municipality.
This year the focus of the program is climate change and renewable energy.
Hence, after completing the visit have been to a photovoltaic system to understand its functioning.
A reception was also attended by the councilman of Youth, Sports, Finance and Revenue, Andrew James, and the mayor of Civil Protection and Public Safety, Miguel M ª Encarnación.
During the reception the young people have known many details about the beautiful building as well as other aspects of the history of Mazarrón like some of the engineers working in the mines were German, French and Belgians.
