The fishing club "Puerto de Mazarron" has won two medals at the XIX Fishing Championship of Spain held from 14 to 16 October in waters of the Mar Menor for categories Ladies, U16 and U21.
First, the young Thomas Patricia Costa won the gold in the Ladies and Murcian Federation placing first ahead of the Basque and Andalusian.
For his part, Jose Antonio Garcia won the bronze medal in U21 category the selection aupando Murcia to third place behind Andalusia and Valencia.
Few catches and bad weather was the general tone of this championship.
Although in the days before the tournament the sea was calm on Friday, the day held the first round, the sea change to lift, tip the lifting of algae from the bottom and making it almost impossible fishing action.
Faced with these difficulties these two athletes showed their potential and the few fishermen were able to get some catch during the tournament, which earned them both on the podium.
