The festivities of Mazarron yesterday honored the largest municipality with a day full of activities carried out in the tent city in the Plaza del Convento and attended by retired major and Day Centres and Puerto Mazarron and and Pensioners Club Mazarron.
All gathered together with the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, and other members of the municipal corporation with the largest share of election of the Queen and Mister Senior.
Catalina Velez Martinez was lucky, randomly chose the paper on which was written the word "kingdom", which gave him the title among the candidates standing for election.
Easier Francisco Caballero Martinez had it that, being the only man who was submitted to the election, Mister was recognized automatically.
The choice and the other activities were presented by the director of Radio Costa Calida, Pedro Chico.
The day began with performances by the choirs of the two centers.
The coral "Mazarron Bay," the Port Senior Center, he performed in the first place, and she followed the choir of the Day Centre de Mazarron.
Cifuentes and Isabel Alfonso Martinez, respective directors of both centers, were also present during the celebration of this day full of laughter and good food thanks to the meal of paella, salad, sausage, cheese and drink that was held after the performance.
In the afternoon came to the tent city a very special visit, the Jesus and Mary "the accordion" who entertained the older pasodobles and popular songs, the occasional joke, and, of course, with its famous "birds" the popular dance, which even the Campillo Gines had to interpret accompanied by volunteers who have helped in achieving this day dedicated to the greatest of the municipality.
The evening ended with a chocolate for all attendees who could also taste delicious churros.
Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Martinez, thanked everyone for their support and wanted to highlight a special "work of the Municipal Emergency Services (EMS), Civil Defense and Red Cross who have provided everything works perfectly," and hoped that "Next year we meet again all again here."
For his part, Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, underwrote the words of the mayor Martinez and wished "everyone has fun because this day is intended for all our elders are the protagonists and have as much fun as they deserve."
