From today until Monday 23 and Tuesday January 31 2012 is open enrollment period for education courses that are open to the Associations of Parents of Students (AMPAS) in the municipality.
Each AMPA can choose up to 4 courses in order of preference.
The prices of these courses are 80 and 40 euros, depending on the sessions that are taught, but there are some that are completely free.
The Department of Education of the City of Mazarron fund a school course, while the rest will be financed from each AMPA.
Among the topics of the courses offered, which can engage an unlimited number of parents, include family communication, social skills, emotions and self-esteem, problem solving of children, bullying, language signs, and even relaxation and aromatherapy or direction and management of a nonprofit association.
Two of the courses offered are completely free and will involve professionals from the Center for Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) in Mazarron and Mazarron Red Cross.
Those responsible for the CAVI discuss the prevention of violence, while the Red Cross members give advice to prevent problems related to drugs and alcohol.
The AMPAS must complete an application form can be downloaded through the website of the municipality, and must be submitted before February 1 at the offices of the Department of Education, located on the ground floor of City Hall, between 8 and thirty in the morning and 2 ½ pm, Monday through Friday.
Councillor for Education, Mary Celeste Soria, AMPAS encourages all to participate in these courses "because they can be helpful to parents improve communication with their children and know better address the problems that young face today. "
