The Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) has issued two resolutions concerning the area of ​​Heritage Hall of Mazarron.
Both present termination date of January 11, 2012 of the Directorate General of Cultural Assets where goods are declared inventoried archaeological sites "Cave of the Dura Slope" and the site called "Cerrico the Garden".
In both publications describe the criteria for protection, being attached to the resolutions.
With regard to the archaeological site "Cueva de la Cuesta of Dura," the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage and the record ends opened in February 2011 to declare an inventory of good protection for it.
The uniqueness of this site is that it is a prehistoric habitat framed chronologically in the Bronze Age, producing its discovery in 1973, and related materials documenting its occupation of prehistoric pottery hand as of that Bronze Age .
As for the site designated as "Cerrico the Garden", this was known since the 70's and has been mentioned in several scientific publications.
The record of the site began in January 2011, are now finished with the recognition of the degree of protection.
Among the findings were found in archaeological excavations include a handmade ceramic assemblage belonging to the time Argaric and polls walls, edges of cups, bowls residues and less large vessel walls.
The rest of the ensemble is filled in two collections of materials found in the Archaeological Museum in Murcia (MAM).
As explained by the Councillor of Historical Patrimony, Maria Martinez, "with these resolutions is a step forward in the protection of many sites with which Mazarrón has also revealed the importance of its rich heritage known and still remains to be discovered. "
The City Council is constantly working to safeguard its archaeological wealth and property, having as main objective the rehabilitation of the Castillo de Los Velez and Cultural Casino de Mazarron.
