The Federation of Rural Women (FADEMUR) organized on 26 and 27 January in Madrid its 5th meeting between Rural Cooperative State Proximity Services.
At the meeting attended by more than ninety women representatives of the fifteen regions where FADEMUR has launched a comprehensive training program and training in social services aimed at rural women, with the aim of creating worker cooperatives related to local services in rural areas.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the Association of Rural Women Gañuelas (ADEMUR-GAMA) the Councillor for Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries, Magdalena Mendez, who also represented the Town Council of Mazarron.
Magdalena Mendez took place several contacts with other associations and defended the role of local government as an engine for rural development and for the maintenance of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
This program has been developing FADEMUR five years in collaboration with the Government of Spain, is aimed at unemployed women in rural areas and aims to promote the inclusion, retention and promotion of women in the labor market and promote the entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, especially among women who are in special difficulties in accessing the labor market and who are in or at risk of social exclusion.
Magdalena Mendez explained that "from the session we will work to implement programs like this that help women in rural areas to enter the labor market."
This will focus on "the importance of promoting associations, as well as the implementation of labor cooperatives formed by women."
The councilor explained that "from my department we make available to those citizens who need information in this regard to implement their own projects."
Magdalena Mendez encourages women to seek niche Mazarrón work that can generate jobs, especially given the current economic situation we live now.
These niches of employment, according to the mayor, would related to the provision of support services and other projects entroncados with Social Policy and Equality such as the development of Law Unit in all areas.
