The local police has claimed Mazarrón to 8 people in secret were serving illegally as a taxi driver in the township.
These complaints are the result of a special device deployed by the municipal body for the past two months and to combat this illegal practice.
The Local Police have collected during this time information on people and vehicles allegedly illegal taxi services ofertaban and the routes they cover.

Among the routes that the defendants engaged Foremost travel to Alicante airport for 80 euros, the districts of the municipality as well as between the two major urban centers of the municipality, and Puerto Mazarron.
Prices for trips to the districts ranged from 8 to 10 Euros, while the Port of Mazarron and back between 4 and 5 Euros.
All of them are linked to the activity to act covertly serving public passenger transport by car light (autotaxis) without authorization, proceeding even to denounce one of them to the Ministry of Transport and thus fulfilling all the requirements and peculiarities under the Law on Land Transport.
From detention, in this case, foreign-registered vehicle used for this practice to pay the sanction of 1,501 Euros.
The remaining seven, who used vehicles with national registration, have been sanctioned by the Municipal Regulatory autotaxi service delivery with a fine of up to 450 Euros.
The Department of Police appreciates the cooperation of citizens, as well as the Association of taxi drivers in the municipality without whose help could not have been the success of the operation.
