This morning 170 walkers came from all corners of the Region of Murcia, and some come from the neighboring province of Almeria, participated in the path "Mazarrón Towers and Castles" that organized the walkers club "Friends of Nature" the cooperation of the City of Mazarron, to commemorate the 440 year history of granting the privilege of Villa Township.

Participants have been delighted with the activity and, surely, many of them repeat their visit to Mazarron in the coming weeks.

The route started at 8 am at the Town Hall where participants have been received by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, and visited the town hall of Mazarron, a beautiful building of the late nineteenth century that has surprised many for its undeniable beauty.

Then, the walkers have visited the Castle of Vélez and Torre del windlass in Mazarron, and then go to the Sierra de Las Moreras where they discovered the late neolithic settlement of Cabezo Lead.

One of the main settlements of the Neolithic era, Chalcolithic final in the peninsula, dated between the fourth and final mid-III millennium BC.

The path continued towards Bolnuevo.

Here participants have visited the Tower of horses and popular erosions which, besides providing a multitude of photos, have a lunch tasted food that was prepared by the consistory for the occasion.

Once replenished forces, hikers along the coast have come to the beach of the Island to visit the Interpretation Centre Phoenician ship.

The Museum of Roman Factory Salt was the next stop on the route ended in Summit near the Torre de Santa Isabel.

The activity has been, without doubt, a new success in their organization and participation in the celebration of 440 anniversary of independence of the municipality.

In fact, many people have been enjoying this route because it has far exceeded the maximum number of participants from the organizing club planned.

It is for this reason that "Friends of Nature" and the City of Mazarron study possible dates for replay in the month of October.
