This past Saturday was carried out successfully the activities planned to mark the celebration of "Women's Day" this year have had a photo contest, a congress, a play and, of course, with the presented the award "Woman Mazarron 2012."
The conference, held at the Day Centre de Mazarron, attracted more than fifty people, mostly women associations both the municipality and the business world, who would not miss the talks scheduled by the Department of Equality of the City of Mazarron.
Participants were welcomed by the first deputy mayor, Francisco Garcia, and the Councillor for Equality, Social Policy, Health and Heritage, Maria Martinez.
Under the title "Women in Times of Crisis", participants enjoyed the presentations "Contextualization: Crisis and Women", hosted by the head of Social Services City Javier Diaz, and "Psychosocial aspects of the crisis on women," which was given by the professor of psychology at the University of Murcia Maria Guerrero.
They also held a panel discussion focused on "The role of women to exit the crisis."
In the afternoon, the People's University hosted the award ceremony "Woman Mazarron 2012" which this year went to Eulalia Alonso Delgado.
The event was chaired by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, who was accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Francisco Garcia and the mayors Maria Martinez, Magdalena Mendez and Juan Miguel Muñoz.
Eulalia Alonso, accompanied by her family and friends, thanked the consistory and the social and cultural associations in the municipality this appointment, "which made me very happy."
During the event also presented the awards of the I Photography Competition "Women's Day."
The first prize of a tablet, was placed on the photographer Teresa Lopez for his play "Waiting," while the second, a day with lunch "Balneario de Mazarron - hotel Sensol" was placed in the hands of Maria Jose Aznar for his photograph "The duty and Pleasure."
The day ended with a play called "Peaches in Syrup," which was staged by the theater group People's University directed by Rafael Garcia Castillo.
