Today has been carried out in Schools' Philip II "and" Domingo Valdivieso "an activity funded by the Department of Education of the City of Mazarron consisting of a didactic concert of 10 songs performed live with lyrics in 3 languages: English, French and Castilian.
This activity, which has been known under the name "Get a 10", "seeks not only that students improve their knowledge in a foreign league, but also promote the defense of human rights" as commented by the Councillor for Education Tourism and Culture, Maria Celeste Soria.
And is that the songs performed during the activity have been aimed at developing young people civic values ​​"such as respect, equality between men and women, or solidarity, among others," said the mayor, who has visited the IES " Philip II "to see how it has developed the activity.
This musical workshop has been aimed at music students of 2 °, 3 ° and 4 ° of ESO and has been performed by a singer and a pianist who, besides being language teachers are highly experienced in this type concert for pupils of secondary school.
The music teacher from IES "Philip II", José M. Valero, thanked the consistory to support this initiative which shows "the commitment of the Council for Education".
Maria Celeste Soria stressed that "for us is important that our young people receive a good education and, since we live in a multicultural town like ours, it is vital the management of foreign languages."
Management also "should serve to improve our image in that we are attracting tourism to cultural and tourist bets implemented from the consistory," he remarked.
