Date palms, olive and drums (01/04/2012)

Mazarron has lived intensely today celebrating Palm Sunday processions of both palms and Puerto Mazarron.

The first to be held took place in Mazarron.

From 10 to thirty in the morning started from the garden of La Paz a parade involving the standards of the Chapter of Holy Week Brotherhoods of Mazarron and children's groups from each of the guilds, and a small throne with an image of Jesus standing on donkey recalled Christ's entry into Jerusalem.

Tens of niñ 's, young and old have passed through the Constitution Avenue and the Plaza del Convento up to the Shrine of La Purisima, where the parish priest of San Antonio and San Andres, Julio Romero, has blessed the palms and olive branches carried by the faithful.

Since there has begun a new march toward the temple of San Andrés where the Eucharist was celebrated on Palm Sunday.

The procession was attended by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo.

In Puerto de Mazarron meeting point for this day of celebration was the chapel of San Anton located in the garden district of San Isidro.

This time has been the parish priest of San Jose, Justo Jose Sanchez, who has blessed the palms and olive branches on the doors of the little church at 12 noon.

Started by the band of drums of the Virgin of Sorrows, the procession walked the streets and Cartagena San Isidro until arrival at the temple of San Jose where there has been the Eucharist.

In this procession was attended by the council of Celebration, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Isidro Coy.

In the afternoon the square has hosted Romeral Mazarron from 5 in a ceremony later, despite his youth, is holding fast every year.

Specifically, it has been carried out for the fourth year in a drum parade which involved young children who have been beating their drums thundered.

Also the president of the Cabildo of Brotherhoods of the Easter Mazarron, Cecilia Morales, and President of the Brotherhood of St. John, Andrew Navarro, have placed a laurel wreath at the foot of the Monument to the Nazarene in honor of all the brothers and memory of those who have died this year.

The drum parade ended with a delicious chocolate cake that have been able to enjoy all those present.

This event was attended by the Councillor for Youth, Sports, Finance and Revenue, Andrew James.
