The Social Hall last night welcomed the presentation Leiva Association of Neighbors "Virgen del Carmen" at a ceremony attended by the Councillor for Citizen Participation and the Environment, David Fernandez and the mayor of Celebration, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Isidro Coy.
The event was opened by the village headman of Lewis, John A.
Soler, who presented to the board of the association.
It consists of Manuel Herrera Jimenez, president of the same, Alfonsa Lopez Munoz, who is the vice president, Patty Lewis Munoz, who serves as secretary, Kitty Soler Clemente, which is responsible for the treasury, and Rogelio Morales Hernandez as a member .
The councilor for Citizen Participation, David Fernandez, said a few words to more than half a hundred people who attended the Social Hall noting that "I am especially happy tonight, because from the area we are promoting citizen participation and always associations and a good news that a neighborhood association is launched. "
The mayor further explained that "soon we will formally constitute the board of Citizen Participation West Zone will be the first to be constituted within the different tips that we are launching."
The Citizen Participation Neighborhood Council West is undoubtedly one of the best performing and comprises the districts of Lewis, The Watchtower, The Majada, and Cañadas del Romero Gañuelas.
Once the institutional side, gave way to the cultural evening organized for the occasion with a recital of poetry and literature that was coordinated and presented by Miguel Morales Mateo.
It was attended by José Gallego Méndez, known as "Pepe the Yegüero" Maria Lorente Vivancos "Ladybug", and Maria Jose Gomez Barba, a poet with two books published from Salamanca who is now living in Puerto de Mazarron.
All displayed their art on stage and to the delight of the audience with his masterful interpretations of famous poems, among which were counted several of Federico Garcia Lorca.
The night ended with a banquet that the association prepared for participants who were served boiled potatoes with garlic authentic, delicious and juicy michirones tortillas potatoes, among other foods such as pizza, snacks, and candy bizcozco cream and chocolate.

Many of them visited the chapel of La Virgen del Carmen has recently been restored and where the City has installed a railing for access to it more comfortable, avoiding the risk of falls.
