The Fishermen's Association of Mazarron is already immersed in preparations that are made each year as the face of the celebration of the feast of the Virgen del Carmen on Monday, July 16.
As is tradition, the fish market the fishing port of Puerto de Mazarron will host the traditional Mass in honor of the "Star of the Sea."
The office will begin at 6 pm and will feature performances of the choir rociero "Aires de Mazarron."
After the Mass will take place the traditional maritime procession that will sail the Bay of Mazarron towards Bolnuevo o Azohía, depending on the state of the sea.
If it is calm, both sites will be visited by vessels participating in this exciting procession in which honors the deceased fishermen.
The image of the Virgen del Carmen travel this year on the ship "Brothers Segovia," which will be decked for the occasion along with the other ships.
After the procession of boats, the Virgin of Carmen will be shouldered by the fishermen to the church of San Jose crossing the center of the seaside town.
Halfway down and about 8 o'clock, the Virgin will be honored at the gates of the headquarters of the Association of Fishermen of Mazarron situated in the square of the Autonomous Communities.
It is anticipated that thousands of locals and tourists participate in these acts are rooted tradition in the town and around the coast of Murcia.
