Yesterday were announced the winners of the XXVIII edition of the story "Villa de Mazarron - Mowing Antonio del Olmo," which began last night the events planned to celebrate this event with the launch of "The blonde girls disease" of Ignacio Borgoņos.
The main prize of the contest, worth 3,600 euros more plaque, has traveled to the town of Ubrique (Cádiz) at the hands of Juan de Molina War for his story entitled "Things that happen."
The second prize of this literary award, endowed with 2,400 euros more plaque, went to the writer Thomas Ulysses Villanueva Collado Villalba (Madrid) for the work titled "Nomad".
The winning stories, which reprints will be delivered on Friday to those attending the awards gala to be held from 23 hours in the hotel "Playa Grande", and can be read on the website of the People's University , www.upmazarron.es, as announced by the director of this agency under the Council of Mazarron, Jose Maria Lopez Ballesta.
This has ensured that the gala will feature the two winners, who will travel to Mazarron to participate in this party around stories with other writers and personalities of Mazarron society and regional literary world.
In regard to the presentation of the book of Ignacio Borgoņos "The disease of blonde girls", it was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development, Francisco Garcia and council members Magdalena Mendez, Andres and Juan Miguel Muņoz Valera.
The publication, promoted by the editorial "Alfaqueque" is "a collection of 15 stories that show the evolution of Borgoņos as a writer of short stories for 12 years of his career" as indicated by the representative of the publisher, Fernando Fernandez; who stressed that "Borgoņos can count things with enthusiasm and with a perfect knowledge of literary technique."
For its part, the book's author, who won the "Villa de Mazarron - Antonio del Olmo Mowing" in 2010 with his story "The Barbarians" and was honorable mention of it in 2008 for a story titled the same way as the publication launched yesterday, said he was "especially pleased to have presented this book in Mazarron which is my second home."
Borgoņos was full of praise to the Mazarron event "for which I have spent in all stages. Ido I vacuum, I have been a finalist, won first prize and, finally, the first prize."
For him "the competition is certainly one of the best in the country."
Borgoņos also had praise for the municipality of Mazarron and the People's University "because they kept falling this competition and great prizes. I can only take my hat off to this strong commitment to culture."
Those who come to reading this book you will find, in addition to its two award-winning stories in this contest, "disappointment in love, moments of ecstasy and and a great respect for the Spanish language and culture."
Activities continue on Thursday at 22 am in the same place with the conference of the writer Laura Freixas entitled "Why write precisely stories."
