Last Saturday afternoon was held in Mazarrón procession of the Virgen del Cisne which attracted hundreds of faithful who gathered at the Shrine of La Purisima to attend the Mass and procession back to the image of the patron saint of Ecuador excitedly toured the town center.
Among those present were: Deputy Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development, Francisco Garcia, and Council Members Mendez Magdalena, Maria Martinez and Isidro Coy.
The Mass was celebrated by the parish priest of San Antonio de Padua and San Andres, Julio Romero, in that temple.
This became too small to accommodate dozens of people, mostly Ecuadorian national, who came from various parts of Spain Murcia San Javier as Totana or in addition to the residents in the municipality.
The procession with the image of "The Churonita" name that is known affectionately to this Marian devotion was especially colorful this year because extended its journey through the central streets of Mazarrón.

Those who opened the parade wore, dancing to the music of "Nelson and his band", the popular straw tied that night would be burned in honor of the Virgen del Cisne.
They were dressed in the costume of the Andean country, like too many women wearing this costume parading with bouquets of flowers in her arms and the flag of Ecuador.
The heat did not intimidate the souls of the faithful who, once the procession took photos with the image of their patron at the gates of the temple.
At night, the Mazarrón Fairgrounds hosted the proclamation of the holidays this year and various folk and musical performances were enjoyed by some 3000 people gathered there.
The opening speech was given by the president of the brotherhood 'Virgen del Cisne "de Mazarrón, Luis Macas, who thanked the City Council support to carry out the festivities.
The event was attended by the council of Celebration, Coy Isidro, the Councillor for Urban Public Services Management, Juan Miguel Muñoz, and the Consul of Ecuador in Murcia, Cecilia Erique.
Coy Isidro highlighted the great work done by that brotherhood and Macas congratulated by "program this holiday that seems to matter of a few days but it actually takes a lot of work behind."
The mayor was pleased to note "the great number of people we have gathered to worship the Virgin and we should enjoy this party with responsibility for that next year we can see each other again".
The festivities were developed quite normally and half of an inclusive environment.
They were also especially interesting words Erique Cecilia who informed his compatriots the improvements made by his government for Ecuadorians living in Spain.
