This past weekend the Hiking Club "Friends of Nature" and the Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón celebrated the World Day Birds with two activities that have raised interest among the citizens of the municipality.
Specifically, on Saturday held an exhibition in Mazarrón falconry bird that was enjoyed by dozens of children, youth and adults who returned to be fascinated by the beauty of eagles, hawks, owls and even a vulture, which were exhibited at the square of Callao.
Children could carry the birds on their hands and also made drawings and magnets on these animals that were exposed at the booth set up for the occasion.
Participants were awarded a T edited by the session.
Small and large, they flocked to the stand, greatly enjoyed the day which stood out the raptors flights conducted under instructions from the monitors of the group "Las Aguilas del Sol" arrived from Puerto Lumbreras.
Also, yesterday "Friends of Nature" also performed fotonaturaleza hiking route to the gravel pits of the Rambla de Las Moreras attended by twenty people, and among them was the Councillor for Social Policy, Equality, Health, Heritage and Museums, Maria Martinez.
Children also greatly enjoyed this activity because they could shoot close to purple herons, jugs, marsh harriers, mallards and Malvasia.
Environment councilor, David Fernandez, has been very satisfied "with the successful weekend we have had in Mazarrón in defense of the environment and of the natural wealth of our town. Activities of World of Birds have been success, as has happened with cleaning Seabed and Beach this year. "
The mayor wanted to emphasize that "the City Council will continue supporting these activities to make October the month of Environment here in Mazarrón".
In this sense, the mayor recalled that between next week "will celebrate the First Conference on Biodiversity and Environmental Issues in the Mediterranean Basin. A quote in which we will have distinguished speakers as the National Environmental Prize, Pedro Costa Morata, Costas or responsible in recent years, Andres Martinez and Francisca Baraza ".
