More than 250 cyclists have taken out this morning from the square of the regions of Puerto de Mazarrón to participate in the March seventeenth Mountain Bike "Mazarrón Bay" which this year changed its course, becoming more interesting and attractive for the participants but also somewhat harder and more than in previous surveys.
The overall winner of this year's event, organized by the Cycling Club "9 ½" with the cooperation of the City of Mazarrón, Bustos Ortega was Thomas who was accompanied on the podium by José Arcas Navarro and Fernando Gallego Piñero, second and third place respectively.
The trophies were presented by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for Sports, Andres Valera, the Councillor for Tourism, Mary Celeste Soria, the council of Celebration, Isidro Coy, President of the Club and organizer, Jose de la Cruz .
Besides trophies for categories has been surveyed for the youngest participant, Miguel Ureña Puche, the veteran cyclist running, Ernest Knaller, and the top-ranked local athlete, who has been José Pérez Sánchez.
They have also won a special award, awarded a ham donated by Butcher Carrañaca, clubs with more participants who have been "The 9" Totana and "BTT Aerobike" Cartagena.
For podiums categories were distributed as follows.
In senior category, the champion was Samuel Gonzalez Monreal, while second and third place have been Rubira Juan Jose Ortiz and Pedro Antonio Cánovas Valenzuela.
In Master 30, the top three were José Arcas Navarro, Andres Salmeron Squares and Ginés López Ruiz.
In Master 40, the champion has been the overall winner of the Games, Tomas Bustos Ortega, followed by Fernando Gallego and Antonio Piñero Cegarra Navarro in second and third place.
In Master 50, the podium was made up Andrés Martínez García, José García and Francisco Gomez Erades Oliver.
In the two remaining categories, Veterans and females, there have been only two participants have been Ernest Knaller and Fernande Lidia Martinez.
The good weather has accompanied cyclists all day, after testing, have spare forces with fruits of "Mazarrón Arias Fruit" and have received a gift from the organization.
The sporting event has been developed successfully and without incident thanks to the good work done, again, by Civil Protection, Local Police and Red Cross Mazarrón.
The Cycling Club "9 and ½" of Puerto de Mazarrón thanked the work of sponsors and corporate partners whose support have once again made it possible to perform this test consolidated in these tough economic times.
