The collaboration between the Association Mazarron "Reforestation", the Southeastern Association of Naturalists and the Department of Environment of Mazarrón has enabled the launch of an initiative to provide the CEIP "Miguel Delibres" Mazarrón an extensive collection of nearly 40 different species of native plants.
This small botanical garden on one side intended to be a resource for environmental education and natural sciences and on the other to increase the green areas of the center, employing native or cultivated traditionally.
The botanical garden consists of:
· A small collection of traditional varieties of fruit (vanishing as nispoleros, apple, hawthorn, pear, pereteros).
· Four beds of native shrubs and bushes with special emphasis on spices and flower.
· A large parterre which represent five littoral ecosystems themselves Iberian southeast (sunny and shady thickets, gullies, dunes, salt marshes),
· 12 deciduous trees to provide shade to the courtyard of the school.
In order to involve the students in the implementation and maintenance of the botanical garden, children's center have been active in planting it.
Associations include the excellent reception given initiative between the smallest and the support center staff.
