On Friday March 22, "World Water Day", the Secondary School "Philip II" solidarity march organized the "Drops of Niger."
The institute collaborated well with the body "UNICEF" campaign entitled "Water leads to School".
The objective of this campaign is that in Niger, one of the countries with the worst indicators in education, is achieved that children have access to school.
Lack of water and sanitation facilities has much to do with the early dropouts, especially in girls.
Therefore, to get access to water favors education, prevent truancy and that 600,000 girls and 400,000 children are deprived of their right to education Something as simple as a toilet with a door protected long for the dignity of school, providing hygiene and protection from prying eyes.
In Niger are countless girls who drop out because they can not use a bathroom at school, especially with the advent of adolescence.
Similarly, in places where universal water pipes is still a distant dream, the possibility of having at school an access point to clean, safe water for consumption, long after the health of students.
Therefore, the IES "Philip II", from the Tutorial Action Plan, has worked for Children's rights and has culminated in the organization of that solidarity march in which participants worked with one euro, or more, to get its dorsal UNICEF.
This activity had the collaboration of the departments of Education and Local Police of the City of Mazarrón.
At 11 am the youth of the institute began walking up some streets of Mazarrón and escorted by the local police.
The school stopped at the Town Hall to receive greetings from Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for Education, Mary Celeste Soria, and the mayors of local police and youth, and Andrew Coy Isidro Valera.
